When shady club owner Ben Archer's wife is murdered, he'll stop at nothing to get back at the Triad members who did it. It's JCVD versus Simon Yam in this surprisingly violent—and even more surprisingly, decent—revenge flick.
The Spermulites of the planet Spermula are threatened by a bigger, tougher planet. So, needing a new space ball to call home, the weedy Spermulon leader ‘Big Mother’ sends some Spermulonion beings (in female earth human disguise) to earth so they can suck up all the male human sperm they can get their lips on. No, I ain’t fucking high, that’s the odd plot of this quite arty, certainly fartsy outer-space boot-knocking opera from erotic French producer Bernard Lenteric.
I've been keeping an eye on Pierre Morel ever since his directorial debut District B13, which was a fantastic action movie that starred parkour: the art of free running, jumping, and climbing. Despite the lightweight plot it was an electric piece of entertainment.
Morel is back with Taken, another movie that's high on action and light on plot, but this time it stars Liam Neeson. He's going to rip Paris apart with his bare hands (and maybe a few knives and guns), Steven Seagal-style, to get his kidnapped daughter back.
Eden Log is an atmospheric sci-fi/horror film from French director Franck Vestiel. It was the subject of mixed reviews at Toronto International Film Festival '08. The slow pacing, particularly in the first half, may be off-putting to some. Give it a chance and you just might like it.
Sadistic, vicious, and nasty, À l'intérieur is a French horror film that is bound to be a cult classic. Even seasoned extreme cinema fans will likely find a scene or two here that will make them uncomfortable.
