Out for Justice

Out for Justice

Classic ham-head action from slim-badge Steven Seagal as a bitter, Brooklyn, New Yawk cop troubled by a failing marriage, a love of abandoned puppies and case that involves the carrot stand killing of his cop partner by the quite insane William Forsythe (American Me—95) who has decided to spend his last day on earth shooting up the city, settling scores and running amok.

"Gimme' an unmarked car and a shotgun!” screams Seagal. Then he throws a pimp thru' a windshield and spends the rest of the movie kicking the shit out of a posse of Forsythe's henchmen in a series of cheek cracking rumbles nasty enough to be cut from UK VHS releases in the 1990's. A pacey, violent and quite savage tale of personal revenge, be prepared for a crazy and downright deadly 24 hours packed with great fights, car chases, gunfire, cursing, Ho's with various diseases, bad gags, ponytails, salami, nods to The Godfather (72) and improvised (?) dialogue from nearly all concerned.

The day ignites when O.T.T hoodlum Forsythe decides to give away all his money, drugs and crime stash and go out in a blaze of gung-ho gangster glory. He shoots anyone who gets in his way (including a guy in a wheelchair!) and he’s messed up on crack, gunpowder and prozzi poontang; all the while tracked by Seagal who runs the entire gamut of emotions from angry to angry.

A personal fave, and easily one of Seagal's best films, you may pass out from the syrupy shmaltz emitted during the intense and utterly hilarious scenes involving him and his long suffering wife (especially the now legendary 'knife sharpener tale' exchange), but you'll forgive and forget all that once you see Gina Gershon in a lowcut waitress outfit ("You could dial a phone with those nipples”) and the sequence where Seagal batters the patrons of a bar into a coma with a cueball in a hankie. Keep watch for inked up Robert LaSardo (Water World—95) and stick-master Danny Inosanto (Game Of Death—78).

This is the best film of Seagal's career. He lays down fifteen types of beatdowns everywhere he goes and fuckin' Forsythe caps a lady just for daring to say something to him! Take that bitch! :crackhit:

I agree, this is the pinnacle of Seagal's movies! He's just a complete brutal badass in this movie. The pool hall scene has to be one of the best in action movie history. I thought there were just a few ways to break an arm, but Stevie shows you so many ways it makes your head spin. And I love the end where he gets revenge for the guy who dumped the puppy in the street... all people who are cruel to animals deserve a Seagal beatdown!

Yeah, the poolhall fight

Yeah, the poolhall fight scene is probably the best fight of he's ever done. It's the only thing in the film that stood out in my memory until I watched it again recently.
