Wrestlemaniac

Also written and edited by Baget, here's a sunny, simple, low budget, 21st century teens-in-peril yarn about a van carrying an amateur porn film crew who all get stranded at a remote mexican ghost town haunted by 'El Masarado'; a serial killing 'Frankenstein' constructed out of the famous body parts of dead mexican wrestlers.

The typical cast of annoying, bone-thin american twonks (Jeremy Radin, Adam Huss, Leyla Milani and Irwin Keyes) are just here to fulfill the victim role in a couple of near gruesome death scenes, and despite being gifted a half decent script to deliver, you'll be hard pressed to remember one of them or who's who and who just died within seconds.

What will be memorable is the fine looking location, gratuitous pant ripping, funny lucha libra jokes and a masked psycho killer (played by Rey Misterio) who stalks and slashes and steals peoples faces before suplexing them to cut-price wrestling hell. Probably one for teen fans of ring raiding and the squared circle, gore lovers might like the homage to the skanky 'teeth V mantlepiece' killing from Argento's Deep Red (76).
